Shout Out LA ~ Meet Ronit Falevitch

Meet Ronit Falevitch: Mom, Esthetician, founder and CEO of Skincare 90210 and Arilan Skincare.

Hi Ronit, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?

My father was self-employed and he always told me to think and dream big. I’m an immigrant and a hard worker, but I never envisioned myself working for others. I had to learn the business first, so I worked for the top dermatology and plastic surgeons in Beverly Hills. It was an amazing experience and I’ve learned a lot. I’m free-spirited and I realized that I can do better when I’m free to do things my way. I’m so happy I had the courage to move on to my very own skincare studio where I can thrive, grow, and enjoy what I do.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It was not easy. I’m an immigrant and started as an esthetician at a few doctor’s offices in Beverly Hills. After few years I decided to overcome my fears and open my own private skincare studio in Beverly Hills. The beginning was scary without clients as well as high rent. Back then, about 25 years ago, we didn’t have social media. I attended charity events and donated gift certificates for facials and baskets of skincare products. One of the charity gift certificates was given to a beauty editor who loved my treatments and wrote about them in an issue of Angeleno Magazine. That article brought many clients to my door along with more magazines and TV stations. It was overwhelming and I thought I was dreaming. I built a successful facial spa with a unique clientele consisting of celebrities, such as the First Lady of the United States, musicians, actors, and news reporters. I have two kids, and it was time to follow my next goal: my skincare brand. It was not easy. There are so many skincare brands in the beauty market but I’ve learned to not copy others, be creative, and start small with high-quality ingredients. I picked the ingredients that I’ve always wanted in skincare products: peptide, hyaluronic, glycolic, shea butter, coffee beans, and more. It is important to me to avoid animal testing and ingredients made from animal products. So I reached out to PETA and Leaping Bunny for guidance. Working as a skin expert for over 25 years helped me to understand different skin types and their needs. I believe in gentle exfoliation and deep hydration to maintain healthy skin. One of the products I created is a 7.5% glycolic peel that helps keep acne and dead skin away. There’s also a hyaluronic cream and serum to keep the skin hydrated and glowing. I enjoy reading emails, reviews, and posts on social media from happy clients. The lesson I’ve learned is to never give up, keep going, and pursue my dreams.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love to dine out with friends, and my favorite spots in Beverly Hills are Mr. Chow, Crustacean, and Il Pastaio. Beach lovers must visit Zuma Beach in Malibu, and stop at The Sunset Restaurant to order the avocado fries and chilled chardonnay. Malibu Farm offers vegan dishes and a delicious matcha latte. Also, the Santa Monica mountains have amazing hiking trails with breathtaking views.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

My success and where I am in life took a whole village! My photographers, beauty influencers, bloggers, models, web developers, and graphic designers. Most of all I want to thank my boys Ari and Ilan for their support, love, and encouragement. They were 15 and 12 years old when I started my brand and they always made sure that I won’t feel guilty for working too many hours by joining me and helping.
